JOYCE WIEBE

Joyce Wiebe is a Registered Clinical Counsellor (RCC) with the BC Association of Clinical Counsellors (BCACC), with over ten  years experience in the helping profession in community, immigrant services, health and government settings supporting youth, parents, and families experiencing a variety of challenges, sexual abuse, mental health  as well as grief and loss.

With a Masters of Marriage and Family Therapy from Trinity Western university, Joyce counsellor training and experience includes adolescent mental health, providing individual, couple’s, family and group counselling to those challenged by anxiety, depression, psychosis and eating disorders. Joyce has training in EMDR: Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing at the UBC school of Professional Development.  She is trained in play therapy and Emotional Focused Family Therapy for couples and individuals.

Joyce believes that counselling can help in identifying strengths and resilience in every individual and aim to provide a safe environment to work on any area to enhance wellness.   Every story is unique and every story is authored by individuals, hence for growth to happen, support is needed along the way. It is Joyce’s desire to witness the authoring of many stories and is happy to listen to these stories in a non-judgmental manner.  Joyce is compassionate, easy-going, flexible, authentic, attuned, congruent, dedicated and caring. Joyce’s therapeutic approach is client-centered, she believes each person is the expert in their own life and with good support can find ways to make life even better.

Joyce is a certified Clinical counsellor in the MAMFT clinical model.
